Nice accom in Scala

Hi all.

Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay in Scala (and which operators go there) for a couple going at the end of September. I have told them they must go to Kefalonia but don't have anywhere in mind for Scala as I have not stayed in that resort before. Somewhere with a pool would be nice too.

Thanks,
Sophie.
:)

Stayed at both the Tara Beach (with Thomsons) and the Paspalis (with Kosmar). I would say both are on a par with each other, both have pools and rooms are similar. Last year at the Tara B we had to pay for a fridge and there was no air con (I believe there is this year). At the Paspalis this year we had to pay for both fridge and air con but our holiday was only 1/2 the price of the Portland guests at the same hotel (and also much, much cheaper than the Tara B) with the added bonus of travelling on Sunday rather than Thursday. Overall I would rate the Paspalis as significantly better value for money and it has a very good taverna (with superb Stifado). Both hotels are on the beach road (with the 9 Muses in-between).

We Have stayed at Andreus studios in Scala for the last 2 years they are a bit out of the way on the road to Old Scala but they are new and lovely there are 2 blocks owned by 2 brothers Kosmar have one block which has a pool and rooms looking out to sea and Golden Sund have the other block. Golden Sun do 2 weeks for the price of 1 in September very cheap we got 2 weeks for £249 in June, very good value

Scala with pool

We've been 3 times to Scala with Kosmar, who are brilliant. Although we always go self catering, there is one hotel with a pool in the Kosmar brochure, which is the Paspalis Hotel and Andreas Studios and Apartments also have their own pool. We've never gone for somewhere with a pool, as the beach is so long, you'll never feel crowded on it!

Paspalis

Hi Sally,
I've been to Skala but stayed at some basic acc. I was told that the Paspalis acc. is very nice - is that true? How did you manage to pay half the price that the other guests paid?I would really appreciate your reply. :-)

Paspalis

On a visit to the Paspalis restaurant about 4 years ago (our first night in Kef), we had a meal there and the next day my mother and I were extremely ill with food poisoining. We never dined there again, Hopefully food has improved. :wavey:
